Batangas United and Progressive Credit Cooperative

Tahanan Terms of Use

Version 10 October 2026

1. About Tahanan and these Terms

Tahanan is the members-only home of Batangas United and Progressive Credit Cooperative (BUPCC). It shows your own membership details, lets you take on tasks BUPCC assigns to you, and lets you share a Business or Interest listing with fellow members in the Community.

Please note in particular that BUPCC Admin may pause or suspend Tahanan at any time to protect BUPCC, its members and the communities it serves (Section 10), and that BUPCC is not liable for loss of income caused by a suspension or takedown (Section 11).

By ticking "I agree" in Tahanan you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, you may still be a member in full standing; you simply will not use Business/Interest or Community.

2. Who may use Tahanan

Only active BUPCC members may use Tahanan, and only as themselves. You may not use another member's Member ID or Access Code, or let anyone use yours.

3. Keeping your access safe

4. Your Business/Interest listings

You may publish up to 2 listings. Each listing must follow these rules:

5. Pictures and links

Each listing may carry one picture and links to your Facebook page, YouTube channel, TikTok, Instagram and website. Videos are shared by link only; videos cannot be uploaded.

6. Contact details and privacy

Your mobile number and email are shown to other members only if you tick "Show my mobile" or "Show my email" for that listing. By ticking, you consent under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) to those details being shown to active BUPCC members. You may untick at any time and the details stop being shown.

Listings in the Community can be seen only by active members who have agreed to these Terms. If you use another member's contact details, use them only for the business purpose they were shared for. Do not copy, collect, sell or pass them on, and do not use them for unrelated marketing or spam.

BUPCC's Data Privacy Notice also applies to your information.

7. Assigned tasks and reference checks

When BUPCC assigns you a task, you may see information about applicants or other members. For that information:

8. What BUPCC Admin may do

Your first listing is checked by BUPCC Admin before other members can see it. Until it is approved, only you see it, marked as waiting for approval. After that, ordinary edits go live right away; a new picture, or wording that the system flags for a closer look, is checked by BUPCC Admin before it is shown. Listings for products or services that are not allowed cannot be saved.

Any member may report a listing that seems wrong, using the Report button in Community. A listing reported by 3 different members is hidden automatically until BUPCC Admin has reviewed it. Please report in good faith: false or repeated reports made to harm another member may themselves be treated as a breach of these Terms.

To prevent spam, Tahanan limits each member to 10 listing saves and 3 picture uploads a day. Links must match their box (the Facebook box takes only Facebook links, and so on) and shortened links are not accepted.

To protect members and the cooperative, BUPCC Admin may, at any time and without prior notice, hide any listing from the Community, remove any picture or link, or ask you to correct a listing. Admin may keep a record of what was removed and why.

BUPCC does not check every listing in advance and does not endorse any listing. Members deal with one another at their own risk, and BUPCC is not a party to any sale, service or arrangement made between members.

9. Malicious uploads and suspension

Any malicious upload or link, as described in Section 5, will be taken down by BUPCC Admin and is cause for suspension of your Tahanan account.

Other serious breaches, such as scams, harassment, misuse of other members' information, or sharing task information you were not allowed to share, may also lead to suspension. Lesser breaches normally begin with a request to correct the listing, then hiding it, then suspension if the problem continues.

While suspended, you cannot use Tahanan's task, Business/Interest or Community features. Suspension of your Tahanan account does not by itself affect your membership, your Share Capital, your savings, or your rights as a member. Very serious cases may also be referred to the Board under the By-Laws and the cooperative's Code of Conduct, and, where the law requires, to the proper authorities.

10. Suspension of the service

BUPCC Admin has the right to suspend Tahanan, or any part of it, in whole or for some or all members, at any time and for as long as needed. This may be done for maintenance, for a security threat, when the system may have been compromised, or for any other related matter, in order to protect the health of BUPCC, the welfare of its members, and the communities BUPCC serves.

Where it is practical, BUPCC will give advance notice. When protection cannot wait, the service may be suspended without notice. BUPCC is not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by a suspension made in good faith, and will restore the service as soon as it is safe and reasonable to do so.

11. No guarantee and no liability for loss

Tahanan, including the Community, is offered to members as a free convenience. BUPCC does not promise that Tahanan will always be available, that your listing will be shown, approved or kept, or that it will bring you customers, visits, sales or any income.

You agree that you do not rely on Tahanan for your livelihood or business. To the fullest extent the law allows, BUPCC, its Board, officers, staff and volunteers are not liable for any loss of income, profit, customers or opportunity, or any other loss or inconvenience, caused by downtime, a pause or suspension of the service (Section 10), the hiding or removal of a listing, picture or link (Sections 8 and 9), a suspension of your Tahanan account, or a technical fault or security incident.

Nothing in these Terms takes away rights that the law does not allow to be waived, and nothing here limits your rights as a member under the By-Laws.

12. Notice, explanation and appeal

BUPCC will tell you what was removed or why you were suspended, unless doing so would put members or the cooperative at risk. You may send a written explanation to the BUPCC office within 15 days. The Manager reviews your explanation and may restore your listing or access. If you still disagree, you may ask the Board to review the decision, and the Board's decision is final.

13. Changes to these Terms

BUPCC may update these Terms. When it does, the version date changes and you will be asked to agree again before using Business/Interest and Community.

14. Questions

For questions about these Terms, or to report a listing, picture or link that concerns you, please contact the BUPCC office through the Contact page of this website.
